Terms of Service

ALL Registered members must abide by these rules. If any member chooses otherwise, he or she is subject to an appropriate penalty or suspension. Realize, the rules listed below are not cut and dry. All situations come down to the sole discretion of any of the MXG Administrators.



User Accounts

Multiple Accounts

• All members may register one account and one account only.
  We have the ability to track and match IP addresses on accounts. If you are found to be using two or more accounts, one or more of them will be deleted and you may be banned from MXG all together depending on the situation. The bottom line here is to register one account and stick with it. If you have account problems, contact an Admin and state the problem you are having.

Name Changes

• If you need your Username changed, you need to contact one of the Admins to do so, preferably via PM.
  Be sure to include plenty of information, especially clearly explaining the need for a name change. *Never create a new account because you need a new name.*

Personal Info

• All personal info, such as name, age, location, and occupation is optional, and privacy is important to us.
  Always remember that everything you post can be viewed by anybody at any time. Please be cautious when giving out personal information such as phone number, postal address, zip code, last name, or anything you do not wish others to know. If you choose to ignore this request, we cannot be held responsible for the consequences. Please know privacy is very important to us; we will never distribute any private information to anyone without first asking your consent. On a similar note, posting the personal details of any other member is not acceptable without their permission or unless they have already made this info public. If you get "spam" emails from a member (this can occur if you check "Yes" for show email on the registration page) please report the email address to us so we can investigate.

Guidelines

• All guidelines regarding posting apply to all profile fields as well, such as Location, Occupation, etc.
  If you can't post it in a thread without breaking rules, you can't include it in your profile.

Avatars

• Maximum avatar size is 75 by 75 pixels
  
• All avatars must meet appropriate guidelines discussed later
  Your avatar may not contain nudity, foul language, offensive, or violent content, among many other things. Avatars can be removed without prior notice.

Signatures

• Maximum size is 200 pixels high by 600 pixels wide
  This size requirement is not enforced strictly, but any and all violations deemed unnecessary will be dealt with accordingly.
  
• Signatures must be safe for work and abide by all other language and posting guidelines described later.
  You MAY include links to other websites in your signature, but links to any sort of affiliate or rewards program will be removed without prior notice.

If your account is suspended for any reason, you may NOT re-register under a new name. If you do so, the new account will immediately be deleted and your suspension will be extended, if not permanent.



Posting Guidelines

"Freedom of Speech"

While we believe very much in the freedom of speech & expression, you DO NOT have an absolute right to say whatever you want in this community. Posts and comments that are meant to incite conflicts between members or outside parties are strictly prohibited. MXG Administration has the absolute right to edit, modify, close or delete any content found in this community.

General Guidelines
The following are forbidden

• Flaming
  No flaming anywhere, not even in the Off Topic forum. When arguing, attack the topic - not the person!
  
• Racist comments
  No hateful comment or remarks on one's race
  
• Sexual Harassment
  Any distasteful comments on another member's sex is strictly forbidden.
  
• Nudity
  NO PORN! Overly suggestive photographs/pictures will most likely be considered adult material and removed.
  
• Posting on behalf of a suspended member
  If a member has been banned or had posting privileges revoked, you may NOT post on behalf of them, whether it be word for word or simply an opinion. If this happens, both parties are subject to penalty.
  
• Distributing info from these forums
  All submitted material is property of MaximumGamerz.com. Before posting any information from this forum elsewhere, you must obtain express permission from both the original Author and a Forum Administrator.
  
• Spam
  Spamming is posting the same message or a similar message multiple times in a short period of time. Note, spam is loosely enforced in the Off Topic forum.
  
• Cross Posting
  Cross Posting is defined as posting the same information or content (full or partial) in two or more posts. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum or category but we ask that you please pick the best one and stick with it.
  
• Excessive swearing
  Keep swearing to a minimum, a non-offensive minimum

*ALL of the general rules listed in this forum (except for warez) apply to the Private Messaging system, especially soliciting, advertising and sexually related PM’s. Violating any of these rules in the PM system could result in immediate removal from the community. We, as admins, never look at or read other member's Private Messages, but if a problem arises, we will if we have to.*

Link Guidelines

• You may not post links to ANY site that breaks ANY previously listed rules
  
• Links to warez or copyrighted material
  Do not link to any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright
  
• Harmful or malicious links
  Links to harmful files containing viruses, trojan horses, spyware, and/or other forms of malware, are not permitted
  
• Affiliate/Rewards Programs
  Members are NOT allowed to post links that lead to any type of affiliate program where points are given or any type of prize or monetary value is awarded.

Link Courtesy

• Not work safe content *NWS*
  When sharing content, typically images or sound, that might not be acceptable in the workplace, you MUST include the letters *NWS* (not work safe), or a similar warning to alert the community of the coming page.
  
• Pop-ups
  If a site you would like to post contains pop-ups, include this information in your post as to prepare members.

Advertising

• Advertising is strictly prohibited
  Shameless plugs, as we like to refer them are prohibited anywhere in the forum. Do not make any posts including your website or product, telling users to "check this out" or "come join my site". You MAY, however, include a link and brief description in your signature to your website or product. You may also include links to stuff such as personal eBay auctions and what not, just no long-term stores or services.

Remaing Respectful

• If you disagree with another member’s point of view, do so in a mature and civil manner.
  You don't have to agree with another member's opinion, but you DO have to respect it, and realize that it IS just an opinion, which may differ greatly from your own.
  
• If someone posts to discuss their personal problems or seeks help from other forums members, please do not respond unless you have something positive or helpful to add.
  
• Do not respond TO a flame WITH a flame.
  Mixing fire with fire results in a bigger problem. If you find yourself being flamed or insulted by another member, please do not dignify that person with a response. Notify a moderator and let us handle it. If you feel you must respond to a flame or insult directly, please do NOT do so on the board. You may courteously contact the member via PM - make sure you do NOT threaten any member.

MXG Administration has the right to close or remove any post or thread we deem inappropriate. The decision to Close or Delete a Post/Thread is solely ours. We have a strict policy of keeping the posts in this community constructive. Posts that create an unnecessary amount of conflict and serve no further purpose may be closed at the moderator’s discretion. Further, it is the policy of this community NOT to delete posts unless the information in a post may put someone in jeopardy. It is the members responsibility to think of the potential consequences of the post they are about to make prior to doing so. Removing a post will often destroy readability of the thread by making it unreadable. Deleting the first post in a thread will cause the deletion of the entire thread. Members do not appreciate spending their time responding to posts only to have the post they make disappear, so we make it a point not to delete posts just because people change their mind after making a post.


Contact Us

If you need to contact an Administrator for any reason, please keep the following in mind

Please be civil and polite. Bring up your concerns in a mature and respectful manner. If you are contacting us because you violated forum guidelines, be adult enough to admit your mistake. If your ID has been locked for some reason, talking politely to us about it in private, via e-mail, private message, or instant messenger, can get your ID reinstated in many cases. Do not be derogatory or insulting towards us. You will not get what you want by name calling or bashing us.

Posting a thread or reply to question or criticize a moderator or administrator action is not appropriate in a public forum. Please utilize the board’s Private Message function, or email, if you wish to discuss these issues. As long as you bring up your concerns maturely and civilly to the moderator or administrator in question, we will do our best to address your concerns fairly and promptly.

All we ask is that you treat us the way you would want us to treat you. If you treat us with respect, we will do the same for you.

As a privately-owned and operated site, we reserve the right to moderate the forums in whatever manner we choose for the "greater good" of the community. There is no formal warning system in place. We examine each incident on a situation-by-situation basis. This means that, even if you're not technically breaking any of the previously-listed rules, you could still be subject to being banned, moderated, or removed from the site if we choose appropriate.
